Serious question from a retiree... What does the new upstream organization look like? Taking a step back, is it that different from the prior organization? I am curious how groups like Operations, Reservoir Management interact.

They think they are superior businessmen/women than the rest of the company.......but I could outrun any one if you with a 100 mph tailwind too.
I am in CTC ( previous ETC) and can’t see much difference from my chair. They changed the names of leadership positions (team leads become chapter heads, etc. etc.), and are resorting out all new multiple levels of overlapping management, but I can’t yet see the utility of all this reorganization yet. Hopefully it will soon become clear that it is the best ever supercharged by great management foresight and new IT enabled magic. Up to now, however, from the bottom, it looks a lot like a giant management clusterf–k. Time will tell.
The org added headcount lol
Upstream is no different than most hierarchical structures. When they pee, it’s on all those who are downstream who get wet. Just like the old saying goes— Sh!t (c-ap) rolls downhill. Upstream may have been reorganized somewhat, but Upstream will always call the shots and pee on anyone below them.
Operations is basically gone.
Why do you care OP, you are already retired and this is layoff site.
