Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Thinking twice about it

I’m working on an exit plan to leave. That being said, has anyone just quit without having anything to fall back on? Like a “leap of faith” that things will work out in the end. The stress level here has gotten so bad I’m actually considering it. But facing the reality of it all, my chances of finding something in less than a few months seem slim. Has anyone had such luck when jumping the gun?

To the person that was denied. How did you get notified? I wasnt notified at all. Seems there might be a case here. They seem to have denied anyone getting a decent size payout. 27 years dedicated and not even a call or email

That's all they will get, a gold star. I worked my behind off at WM getting some things done and I got a gold coin, made from plastic. Hahahaha! Totally worthless, just like this job! I got denied my leave, but I'm out the door anyways.

No need for name calling. I'd be jealous too. I hope Mr. Dirk gives you a big gold star sticker for all your hard work!

Well said!!!

I've heard people say "well you signed up for this", or "that's what companies do."

Um, no, I never signed up for this, and while there may be other c-appy companies out there as well, treating employees terrible is what Mondelez specifically does to employees.

There is no reason to treat employees poorly, other than a group of nasty people who do it because they can. A bunch of sadists!

Not every company treats the workers poorly.

I don't need anyone to reply "get a new job then."

I'll get a new job when I want to, and I will still comment about this company's abuses to the employees until then.

There is zero excuse for a company to abuse its powers. IF you don't believe, go ask the jury that agreed! Or ask the attorneys Mondelez retains, why they settle so many issues before they are litigated? HUH?
People work for a number of reasons, pay bills, self fulfillment, etc., this does not give an organization the right to abuse them!
We had a merchandiser who was worked over 30 days with not a day off, although he asked. Finally he was so worn out he called in sick. The DM and RMS called him all morning telling him to get up and work. That ain't work! He was PT. He quit a week later. That's abuse. You may want to keep your mouth shut until you know exactly what you are talking about, clearly you don't!

Go throw some freight.

Honey, there's other fish in the sea!

If your over worked and underpaid. Go fishing!

Go find somewhere where you are under worked and overpaid.

And don't give me that c-ap " I shouldn't have to Mondelez should change!" because you know what! Mondelez doesn't give a sh– about you. If you keeled over and died Mondelez would replace you in an hour.

They OVERWORK and UNDERPAY.

The expectations for SOME people is unfair.

Working people until they keel over is WRONG!

Last I checked, I'm a person, not a robot. There is actually a physical ceiling to how many stores and freight a living, breathing person can do per day.

Victims of what? You work, they pay you? What else do they owe you?

The real question is why would an employer treat their employees like slaves? Don't use that reverse psychology BS, and try to blame the victims.

Why do you work at a place that treats you like a slave?

I could not take it the abuse and lack of communication. Gone after 20 years.
Good luck

Perhaps they are working here cause they need a job? Doesn't mean that they have to like it. Take your big boy self and your racist comments somewhere else, nobody cares what you think, you're a pig!

Ok mr. Cookie stacker. Don't take my advice and be treated like a slave. You obviously enjoy it otherwise you would have left. Please don't take my advice and get a new job. Stay here be a slave for masta dirk!

You must be one of the people that could never handle a grown up route, so you've had a cushy, little baby route the entire time YOU'VE worked here, apparently. Like I said, the people that disagree are the ones with the coddled routes, so of course you can't relate. FYI, I don't take career advice from naysayers, but thanks.

LoL @ Mondelez works ppl to point of enslavement.

Put your big boy or big girl pants on and get a new job. That is unless you like being treated like a slave.

I'm right there with ya!!! I have considered walking out many times, without having another job. It all depends on your personal financial situation, and if you think you can wing it or not. I've decided if I need to do it I can cut back on frivolous spending, stop eating out, use coupons when grocery shopping, etc. The stress, the poor treatment, the chronic overworking of employees, all the abuses this company does to the workers, honestly, it's not worth it anymore. I really, really want my life and my soul back before I'm too broken down to enjoy the rest of my life. This company uses and abuses SOME employees to the point of enslavement. If you are not one of these abused employees, you will disagree with this, if you are one of the employees they've ran into the ground, you'll agree.

Work hard on getting out if that's what you want. But don't leave without something else.
