Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Left without notice?

Someone has already written in one of the threads that this is exactly how they left the company - without notice. Honestly, I am currently in a situation where it would be most convenient for me to leave Mondelez without any notice.
However, apart from the fact that it is not moral or okay, it is not very clear to me how someone can just leave and not show up at work anymore?
Is there anyone else who has left or knows someone who has left without giving notice?

I'm so sorry that people are just figuring this out now and for those who are still going to be employed at Mondelez...my heart aches for you! It's gonna get so ugly, so much more than it is now! Hug your family now cause you won't see them for a while.
The dog and pony shows, when senior management gives local management plenty of time to "stage a false reality", should cease. Come on out Dirk and see reality. Host a forum where your employees feel safe sharing their true sentiments of what occurs. It's not a good picture and now is a good time to show you care, unless you don't!

I agree with all the above...it's employment at will. No notice is required and the post about getting terminated is spot on, uber ride home.
Ya get what you give in life, I'm gonna text my DM Sunday, when I start my new job, and let them know where I left the car with all their stuff in it. Of course I'm gonna let my dog sleep in the car first. They cannot withhold any pay without a court ordered judgement...sue me baby!
I CANNOT WAIT, THEY HAVE NOT A CLUE! Worst company every!, I treat my dog better!

Mondelez has no morals. They deserve no notice. They will get no notice from me.

I've heard stories of reps leaving their car in a store parking lot, and walking out.

When you're done, you're done.

Plenty of merchandisers have walked out mid shift, or just never shown up again.

It's a regular occurrence for employers that treat the employees bad.

Yes, if you're a rep, you put all their stuff in the car, drop it off, and say Sayanara!

If you're a merchandiser, just don't show up.

You could of course give some sort of notice if you choose, but it's not required.

It's perfectly fine to not give any notice and leave, just like if they want to fire someone, there's no notice, they fire them.

You need to do what works for YOU.

Just give a phone call and say your last day will be (Insert Date Here). It happens all the time! You gotta do what's best for you. They will find someone new and have you replaced.

Good luck on your new opportunity!
