Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

It’s not that easy to leave Fiserv

I recently met a former colleague who has now found a new job, where he says he is paid better and generally has better working conditions. Still, he couldn’t resist asking about the situation in Fiserv and recounting a few ugly situations.

And then I thought to myself - how come people cannot mentally leave Fiserv even when they physically leave here? I would never mention this company again if I could find a new job. I would try to forget my experience right away!

I got out about 6 months ago and will honestly say there are two reasons, Stockholm Syndrome and the fact that I still care about my former co-workers' well being. Fiserv is mentally draining, I know of 4-5 people that had either anxiety attacks or heart attacks that landed them in the hospital from the long hours and stress. Some got smart and moved on, others are still there.

I agree on the nasty divorce analogy.

Doing much better since the layoff last March. Substantial raise, and a culture that's 180 degrees from the status quo at Fiserv.

But it's hard to completely forget that bullies, the inept management, being rated on goofy yearly goals that had 0% to do with your job, and more to do with whether played up to the corporate-speak.

One year out, and I'm still wanting to CC: a few managers with a GFY salutation.

Fair point, the quality etg folks are gone. The ones that got by on their “social skills” still remain

ETG? Social club? Some of that was but we were damn efficient and smart. Not part of the ETG culture at all. Oh HR? I am long gone so try to find me.

I departed on my own in late 2019. My department was mostly intact and I have fond memories of Fiserv. This was before FData really began to take over and Mike West was going on and on about Operation Excellence. Over the next year First Data proved the stronger partner and has decimated Fiserv. My old department? Gone and no one fired, all left voluntarily for good jobs elsewhere. And some FData shill will say Good riddence incompetants, NOPE, our group was darn good and saavy. So encourage all Fiserv staff to up and leave on their own and don't let the door hit your — on the way out.
