Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Awesomeness

Pure leadership genius:

"Six years, 54,858 layoffs, two mergers, and nearly $175 billion later, AT&T is only marginally closer to streaming TV dominance." Way to go JD, RS, and JS. At least your pockets are full.

You have to remember everything they do has to be approved by the board of directors which answer to the stockholders. So the board is just as guilty.

Stankey was the driving force in buying DTV at that ridiculous device and then managed that business as it continuously declined. Then bought Time Warner where he drive out the talent to the point that HBO is no longer thought of as a leader as evidenced by the recent Golden Globe awards. Fire Stankey and AT&T might have a chance or this bumbling id–t will drive it into the ground!!!

"I wonder if they are self-aware enough to take the blame for this:"

Stankey, Stephenson? Self aware? Are you kidding? That's hilarious.

Ultimately, no amount of money or political power could buy the TV dominance the company’s executives envisioned. And as AT&T struggles to offload the mammoth debt load created by its ambition, employees and customers continue to foot the bill.

I wonder if they are self-aware enough to take the blame for this: "After receiving an estimated $42 billion in tax cuts from the Trump administration, the company has instead laid off an estimated 54,858 employees since 2017. AT&T imposed additional layoffs at Time Warner properties, including HBO and DC, and shuttered businesses like DC’s popular Vertigo label in a desperate bid to cut costs."
