Tracking Devices - Uh oh!

So will all employees in september be required to wear tracking devices on their badge? Seems a bit excessive. Are other companies actually doing this too?

But wait they promise not to track how long you sit and eat your lunch!

This Orwellian notion cannot possibly be true.

No problem here. If WFH I'll just move my TV to next to my laptop. If back in office I'll just leave badge on desk and use my ipad in cafeteria. I can't wait to stream those new Star Trek episodes on Paramount plus.

They do not work... Had an issue where a staff member tested positive for COVID.. HR could not contact trace because they said the devices are not fully functional. Management had to decide who had to be quarantined.

Always wonder how these smokers keep their jobs. Many of them are highly compensated and they are screwing off 5 hours a day when the weather is nice.

Certainly demoralizing to most of us.

@Ralph Yinzer good way to find the employees always lounging around at other employee's desks or in the hallways socializing. They need to track all the time spent on personal phone calls too. These people spend more time slacking than any smoker or folks working out at the gym.

Good way to get rid of the smokers. Smokers in Pittsburgh spent a good part of the day standing and socializing outside. Gym goers spent a long time walking to the gym, working out and then eating lunch too while STILL leaving early.

Exactly. There's no opt out option. They haven't supplied full terms of use disclosures. They're walking a risky path here by making it a requirement and going so far as to say an employee who doesn't add the tracking sticker to their badge and maintain it on their person at all times will be denied access to work and be terminated. I don't buy into the "this is for Covid tracking and response only" line they are pushing.
