Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

The only thing to fear is fear itself

For years I’ve wanted to leave and the only thing stopping me was fear of the unknown. I had so many of them. So many what ifs….what if I can’t find another job? What if it doesn’t pay what I need? What if I’m too old? What if the only thing I can do is retail? I was terrified of leaving my club. Then I was scared to lose my job during the pandemic. All the changes, all the cuts…it reached a point that I had no choice but to start looking. To my surprise I actually found something outside of retail and I have to say - it’s wonderful. I’ve been gone for 5 months and if I had let my fear of the unknown continue I’d still be there. My advice, you won’t have the chance to leave unless you take it. Don’t let fear stop you.

Most of us long term associates are very dedicated workers and we have taken pride in our jobs for years! We have been Loyal to a company that doesn’t care anything about us anymore and for that reason I have decided to leave.
We can find another job! Trust me Sam’s will be sorry in the long run! We are the Associates who took pride in our Jobs who actually knew the history of this company but as I have seen for the last few years Sam’s wants new Associates because they have deserted all of us! After all some of us barely make what the new ones have hired in at!
Tell me that’s not a slap in the face???
I’m no longer proud of the club that I work at or the company I work for!
It’s time to go! They want us to feel like we should stay because we are getting older and many of us planned on retiring with this company.
I’m going somewhere I feel appreciated and wanted. Good Bye Sam’s!
