FAN discount push!!!!!!!

So the new directive in the gulf states is to add signature discounts at all costs. Going so far as to to add AARP discounts to anyone availible. So now we convince customers to pay $12/year to enroll and we have to go onto the AARP website and sign them up to then attach the FAN discount. Management is even asking in observations if we asked or signed them up after transactions.

The problem is- most reps don’t tell the customer they’re signing them up for anything. They take their info and card and act like it’s for verification or something...it’s always a scam. There are many FANS that discount unlimited plans. But T got this deal going right now w/ AARP so they’re doing the usual fire drill. Nobody wants HBO MAX, no old guy needs the elite plan yet they scam the old people cuz they can. These days anyone walking into a retail store leaves with a new line they know nothing about, a watch or iPad they think is free, and ATTTV, which they also know nothing about.

If you have any FAN except FRAO, you get Elite for the price of Extra.

I don’t see an issue with helping a customer sign up for AARP to get a discount.

But if the customer only needs “extra” why put them on elite? (Besides More commission for you, which is a BS reason)

Does “extra” not qualify for the AARP Discount? (I don’t work in mobility)

The FAN push is essentially a fraud push. Putting FAN's on accounts just to hit a magical number that has no correlation to any metric that really makes the bottom line. Oh I have heard the lines from the Kool aid drinkers....... FANS help retention and they are less likely to p–p their pants.

MyCSP even gives a special link to encourage customers to sign up. AT&T probably gets paid referral money at that link.

The FAN gives them the Elite for the price of Extra. This shows shareholders more subscribers on the premium plans. In turn they get free HBO max. That shows additional growth by adding subscribers. It also gets the account holder upgrade and activation fees waived. So you look like a hero. It's all about cooking the books for the investors.

Sign them up for AARP, which waived ACTIVATION FEE and gives them ELITE plan at the cost of extra!! Win win!! More money in your commission $$$$.

What's wrong with signing a customer up for AARP membership that they did not request in order to save them money?

Heck, sign them up for that car insurance app that tattle tales their driving habits but gives them an insurance discount while you're at it.
