Once companies decide to return to the office, it's going to get real interesting. Can't think of many people that have worked from home for a year that want to go back to a full-time office setting. I know of a few people that have moved and now live hundreds or thousands of miles from their office desk. There is no way that they will ever return.

After a year of not paying for child care, parents are not going to rush back to paying that expense. Most employees are not looking forward to spending an hour or more per day in their vehicles traveling.

Companies will need to be real creative about how office schedules look when this is over. Flex schedules will be the norm. Working in the office does have benefits but...

You really think the company cares if the employees are ready to go back to an office setting? As for the people that moved away that sounds like their problem as well. "There is no way that they will ever return" well it sounds like the company will have to hire people that will return and they will be let go. This message must be hard to read for the people that have been busting their butt in the office and still making that commute and paying child care throughout this whole pandemic as you are whining after a year about having to come back... that is pretty sad. I hope the best for people like you in the future because the company will not care of your inconveniences because people have been coming in to the office at all times.
