Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Location closings

When's the last time a Sam's Club closed? Does anybody know? I found that a bunch was shuttered at the start of 2018 but I haven't found anything since? Does Walmart ever close single locations or is it always one major round?

Sorry if these seem like stupid questions, I'm thinking of switching to Sam's from my current job but I'd like to research first how risky that move might be.

They will keep trying to re-invent themselves to keep up with Amazon and COSTCO. I could totally see them turning some Clubs into fulfillment centers.

IMHO no Clubs are being closed anytime soon. Things are trending toward some new Clubs opening up in the next few years. There is a lot of momentum building toward pushing back against Costco and even potentially opening up Clubs out West again to compete.

vhs+19, What is that? My club is $100,000 too and we're right off an expressway.

Don’t go to Sams Club. No advancement no work/life balance

Short answer is who knows. But Walmart Inc typically likes to do for lack of words large layoff/closings. And when one is planned it gets leaked to the media almost immediately and Walmart Inc Public Affairs will post all kinds of vague information to make it look like this will benefit the stockholders.

Just drive by the club you are looking at going to and see how full the parking lot is during the business day.

The club I am at is quite in the middle of no where and most members need to drive a half hour to over 2 hours to get to us. And we are a $100 million club and as of the initial part of first quarter we are tracking to exceed that level this year.
