If Cisco stopped cutting key roles that are required for a better product in the name of profitability and actually started getting rid of fat from places where it actually exists - and yes, I'm looking at several layers of management for this. Instead of using layoffs to improve the company, this ELT keeps undermining it and its products. That needs to stop.

Just know that when a small group of people are jumping ship in a department, it is time to do the same before it sinks with you.
The layers of VPs, Directors, and Managers are to deflect accountability. A smart SVP has a few scapegoats lined up for their failed strategic initiatives. At the SVP level, the objective is authority without accountability.
Work somewhere else if you care about product quality. Work at Cisco if you enjoy political games & bureaucracy.
