Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

CX - Advanced Services Ponzi scheme / house of cards

In addition the horrendous top level leadership is the fantastically broken Services model in which Cisco handcuffs customers into enormous service contracts that customers actually don't understand. They have hoodwinked them into buying combined services to subsidize advanced services resources that they never staff and never get the value from.

The internal model is so broken because of the millions of annual costs recently incurred as part of the useless CSE/CSS roles created that literally no one understands what they actually due but because its V2Mommy's plan it has to exists at all costs. Meanwhile meaningful roles that work with customers, deliver actual results and value like consulting engineers are are cut, work transitioned to center incapable of delivering, and we spin cycles chasing bug after bug in every product.

Not a single director or vp wants to address this because its the 3rd rail of politics within CX. Simply mentioning these issue is met with admonishment. Its literally a manifestation of the Emperor has no clothes.

The company is woke, but woke in the wrong areas. Chuck and Fran will have us singing Kumbaya as the business literally implodes. They can't keep taking money from some customers and not delivering what was promised to customer A only to subsidize customer B,C,D and other where they agreed to hair brained deals that s—ing all the resources from other accounts and literally hemorrhaging money.

Remember a few years ago when there was a huge deal for a household name customer that was held up as the model to replicate a few years ago? And now after several leadership changes and hundreds of layoffs they are still bleeding money on that account? Actually, there are a few that are like this. While other accounts have people doing 2 jobs because they aren't allowed to staff up to the right level.

We are LR'ing the wrong people.

Anyone in CX have an opinion on this?

What is truly AMAZING is leaderships absolute refusal to take a stand internally and support the people on the front line and say "Enough is enough". Either we stop the b—s— notion that all work can be done by off-shore resources or just pack it in for big customers. Or consider big dollar customer expect a high touch experience with people that have more knowledge than them and can guide them forward staff the F up. Or stop expecting people to be happy to have a job where they work 50 hours a week, are on call 24/7, and haven't had a raise or promotion in 5 years.

V2Mommy has to figure out that 10% of Cisco's customers account for 90% of our annual revenue and has even more wallet share open to us if we could only execute.

Customer don't care about marketing wanks or what we think is in vogue. They care about getting the most for their money. The more Cisco forgets about that - the faster we'll be in the same search results as "What happened to block buster".

As a CX NCE... I wholeheartly agree with this. I have been attached to multiple contracts where it has been an utter waste of time and money for the end customer, and being on the USPS side - that hurts me to be saying this, because we are all taxpayers and funding this ponzi scheme. The massive additions of these overhead charging roles is costing the customers dear, and to the point where some are realizing it, and deciding to move on to different vendors. I have personally considered a move to CSS, but I can see through the curtain of just how risky that would be for me in my career. Part of me believes a number of our issues stem from sales being incentivized to take advantage of our customers, by selling them solutions that they clearly do not need, do not use and sit on a shelf for years before becoming EOL - all so they can pad their pockets.

CSS/CSE have no idea what they are doing. Everything time there is issue, they will just run over to the NCE for help. What’s the point of having them in the organization.

Exactly, CSE don’t really know what they do or how they add value.
Ask them, and all you hear some high level mantra but don’t see them bringing anything new that PM, SDM and NCE already do.

Regarding VP's. I've seen Joe Biden speak more in the last 60 days than I've seen my VP in the last 6 months. I think he's had 2 meetings and its been corporatspeak/jibberish and not addressing the fundamental business issues. I bet 80% of the people in his org couldn't pick him out in a line up or identify his voice.
