This "new" appraisal model is the same system where bad managers lord over their indentured servants each year. 80% of employees recognize the BS and accept the c-ap shoot system, throwing together their 3-4 vague bullet points to satisfy the system, while the other 20% etch together every detail of their worthless accomplishments from the year, in hopes that their powerless master will throw them a bone. The irony is this is the GE, manufacturing based, model that GE no longer uses. Many modern companies, tech specifically, have moved to a real time appraisal system, where project success is rewarded in real time.

There are many good systems they could use that force managers to answer and rate employees on very specific questions on a sliding numeric scale, which is then tallied to create overall rating. Mid level managers should not be forced to rate lower managers as exceeding when they are being groomed to move up.. employees should also perform meaningful reviews of their managers using systems that let them remain anonymous.
Geo leadership ceases to exist. Should be okay if you've never done the job or you're simply an a–hole or you spend the entire day at black gold. Talkin about Damien and monkey man and Doug the NAU slug.
Just listen to leadership podcasts and list that for your evaluation... you'll instantly be a VP. Or if you're geo just say you're NAU alum.
It should be obvious to everyone by now that Pioneer needs to adopt an appraisal system that includes promoting people based on their having the respect of their peers. Until then we will continue to have wave after wave of clueless a$$ kissers who crawl into management by simply checking a box.
Most tech companies market themselves as having a real time appraisal system. You'll quickly find out it's all smoke & mirrors. Project success is not rewarded in tech.
The top leadership is not age diverse. The ages of the leadership team should be proportional to that of the company. They made the company younger in the last two layoffs, where is the under 40 executive leadership? Shoot, at least one intern should be on MC this summer.
