Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Love/hate

I've noticed that people who work at Mondelez either love it or hate it, there is no middle ground here. Some will ardently defend it even when there is nothing to defend and others will find faults even in the few good moves the company makes. Honestly, it's funny how polarizing this place has become.

Same here, never ever see my DM. He'd rather be d–g through glass then come work on my route. He only likes to go work with his favored reps.

Pre covid I saw my DM once a year at our "meeting", where we also pick vacations. Beyond that, in 13 years I have never been scheduled ONE day to work with my DM. That in itself is laughable! Probably a position they can easily eliminate, other than "courting" all the new hires, little to no interaction with the team?

Sorry, not a troll. Been here 22 years, and in that time, I've seen plenty of fat SR's squeeze out of their cars. Nice try!

Back when it was Nabisco even when first Kraft-Nabisco, it was a great job to have....but as all the “original” management has retired or left, or whatever, then the split from Kraft, it has eroded into being a “mule” worker, not an SR! They’re going to eliminate the SR position within the next 3 years if not sooner. Why do you think they’re giving C/D stores to the FTOW? To test them to see how they do.
They may not entirely exit DSD but the are going to the Acct. Mgr. Selling in the displays, inserting NOS’s to insure product and using the SR to baby sit the SSRs as well as making the SR a overpaid merchandiser...at least those of us who get nearly twice as much as newbies....which is why some of us got the hook this go around!

Yep I do! Been blessed with kids and what they give ain't much of a family car. I would't put a dead cat in there with the lack of safety features. They get the cheapest thing money can buy. Like I said, funny to see the heavy (nice way of saying fat) reps crawl out of the company car at our meetings. I'll take my gas bill, insurance bill, and maintenance bill all day, every day, for the comfort and safety of my family.
They don't give you a car as a "perk", its cause its cheaper than paying mileage and offering an allowance, as other companies now do. This so their employees can get the car that is right for their individual needs. I'd much rather do that.

The company literally gives you a car, pays for your fuel, pays for insurance, pays for maintenance

and

you still dump mileage, wear and tear, fuel, and insurance on a personal vehicle.

Whatever you drive for work, for me I still will drive a family car so the benefit of a small(ish) work car, that I pay for, isn’t a perk at all! I’d rather have the money for a car and mileage, like Kellogg’s reps, and get my win choice on what I drive. I always think it is so funny to go to meetings and see the heavier reps squeeze out of the car 😂

"The smallest car ever?"

Um, what are you driving?

I hate to burst your bubble, but the $160 monthly charge for the car ain't great either. Its the smallest car ever and even at that you are gonna lose that perk soon too!

Great benefits???

Sorry a $2,000 deductible for medical, which is basically the lowest one available to us is not good benefits.

The $1,000 plan does not include dental or eyes if I remember correctly, and also has some other deficits, so I'd never pick that one.

I'd call it catastrophic medical insurance at best as in if I get in a horrific accident, or need a surgery, then thank goodness I have this insurance. Otherwise, it's like I do not have any medical insurance as I pay for all of it through the year until I've satisfied the $2,000 deductible, then it's only covered 80% after that.

And guess what, I never satisfy the $2,000, so I pay for it all, so it's like I do not have any medical insurance.

Sorry, that's not good.

Years ago the plan was a tiny co-pay, and they changed to plans with huge out of pocket costs for the employees.

Basic dental and eye coverage are okay and decent, but not better than what most people at other companies have.

Glad we still have 401K with matches since the pension went away.

The car is the biggest perk, but we still pay a fee for that as well. Not complaining because $160 is a great perk for the car.

It's the last, great perk we have.

Not sure what benefits you think are so great?

I do not know of anyone that loves working for Mondelez. Most people tolerate the jobs. The benefits are great. The jobs are horrible. Many years ago it was a great company to work for.
Not anymore.

I know some people that love it here. They are part of a group that is treated with respect, and not over worked. They have small routes compared to others, and get away with bad behaviors at work, and barely do their jobs. So of course they think it's great working here.

Their experience is the complete polar opposite of mine.

I'm treated with disrespect, and completely overworked. If I forget to dot an "I" I'm reprimanded and chastised.

I guess it depends which group someone's in.

I would never, ever recommend anyone to work here unless they like to be treated poorly on a regular basis.

Sad, but true.
