Hoping guidance from supervisors in this forum — when are we expected to be back full time to campus? With vaccines supply exceeding demand, is there an expectation that we all will come to campus full time at some point this year? Is it May after school year is done and most teachers and childcare providers have been vaccinated?
What about parents who still don’t want to send kids to school/daycare because there are no vaccines for kids and long term health implication of COVID on kids is unknown? Your best suggestion to us would be to find alternate job? Just looking for honest answers not a judgement on whether it’s right to ask folks to come back or not. Agree that it’s company’s choice to do what they think is in their best interest.

We live in an age where people are complaining about going to the workplace that pays us.
Resign from XOM and homeschool your kids.

Hmm, I didn't know that management was posting topics here.
Really? Your looking to get guidance from your supervisor in this forum? Wow. You are delusional.
The expectation is that we get our teams back to collaboration and being able benefit the difficult balance between having to get the most out of our limited teams. The environment is in constant change trying to insure we do less with less. Depending on your position and ask for your department will depend how engaged at the campus or field offices you individually need to be. I would assume we are going to get lean and efficient and often being around the office to be seen when people are looking for the key players to facilitate that will help.
Your kids are fine. The best thing you can do for them is get them back in school. Look at the data and stop watching the news.
The flexibility you are seeking is not likely to be granted. Flexibility is available for specific, short, time bound events.
Based on your post I suggest you look for a work from home type job elsewhere. Your concerns are unlikely to be resolved to your satisfaction. Work from home flexibility is meant to be for short term situations. Unclear to me if, how, when your concerns could be addressed. For example when will we know possible long term effects on kids? Only after long term. Without any path to when you would return to campus it isn’t possible to grant you flexibility. You need specific time bound criteria.
Many of your concerns will have no immediate resolution. As such you may want to look for a job where work from home is the expectation not the exception. Flexibility programs are meant for short term situations.
