Everyone goes around saying that they have had enough of this place and that they can hardly wait to be laid off. Encouraging are the stories of people who say they are doing much better here after earlier layoffs, but I still take their words with suspicion.
The only thing I know for sure is that those who don’t get laid off get a huge amount of extra work and extra stress.

I remember when they did care. They actually had meetings in the union trust building with every single dept in Pgh to try to find ways to make them the employer of choice. They wanted to keep their best employees with better pay, perks, benefits and opportunities. What happened. Poor Mellon Bank. I miss you. When I die my watch will be with me because Mellon is always in my heart.
Its very simple. Not working for BNY Mellon is much better than working for BNY Mellon. Don't stay at BNY Mellon any longer than you have to. Use your job at BNY Mellon as a stepping stone to get you in the door to something better someplace else. The biggest mistake you could ever make is to try to make BNY Mellon into a long term career. The company has no interest whatsoever into making that kind of commitment to you, so why try to convince them otherwise?
