Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Exxodus gaining steam

Every time I open LinkedIn I see more people resigning and announcing they have left ExxonMobil and have a new job they are excited about. The Exxodus is really taking off now. Great to see so many people jumping ship for better opportunities.

I’m still applying and hope to join the ranks of the recently departed soon.

Even the Koolaid drinkers, bitt kissers, true believers will have a hard time making the last 10 years before retiring. And then, who is going to hire an overpaid, know-nothing, do-nothing, from a failed company?

Their masters and sponsors have long been gone by then enjoying their spoils , so who will give two fcks when they are also tossed to the curb when the inevitable change of crew happens?

Nobody.

And I’ll be laughing when they try to network me asking for a job.

In my opinion anyone below the age of 52 who is championing staying with the company is a greedy loser of the highest kind. These people have developed no skill sets to get hired in another company, so leeches are sticking to this toxic worthless company.

At least there’s still people doing the work, and I’m still able to get through co workers. This just means not enough people are leaving the company.

Remember the bottom 2 quintiles are considered non-regrettable resignations. Also, since the bottom 20% were pip'd or laid off last year. The non-regrettable resignations are the bottom 3 quintiles of the 2019 ranking. Those that resign can be easily replaced. Resignations happened in the past and will happen again. XOM cannot make everyone happy.

Mass exodus of technical and discipline people is ok for Company. The HiPos left hanging on know so much about everything and can complete work in superheroic proportion. Should have thought of this a long time ago.

Management doesn’t care if more people than expected leave. It’s just a number to them. They’ll just reallocate heads between groups. If they run short, they’ll hire new ones and release older ones simultaneously to make their operating expense targets. It’s all short term thinking and it will hurt the Corp eventually, but for now, it’ll ride the high oil prices until the next crash...

I’m really curious if anyone here ha access to some stats on how attrition levels. We all know the announced targets via PIP-off and the layoff. Based on so many others seemingly leaving on their own accord, it’s gotta be higher than they planned for. Are they to the point of sh!ting pickles yet?
