Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Yoshi

I recall a few years ago Yoshi being promoted on campus. Then someone put a stop to Yoshi fuel deliveries on campus. Then there was a designated spot to park for it. Then there wasn’t. What’s the latest on Yoshi? Seems pandemic paranoia could have boosted usage?

@3lrr+19RStwmy , yes and, one of the two 'founders' is the son of BF. Bush era GOP senate majority leader with his own building at Princeton. Grand old connections can't hurt.

Yoshi was the stillborn baby of clueless EMIT managers punching their card on rotation to 'the business'. Apparently Innovation was the place they could do the least damage. 'The Business' never actually bought into it, they let them do their HiPo thing and then were booted back to EMIT. No wonder they didn't even know how to do business with the Fire Marshall.

VPs of course don’t have time to fuel their own cars.

Speaking of free flowing money with no return. Anyone else have all the stuffed animals from the campus synergy fuel party? Point assures was my favorite.

I heard Yoshi is also now including other options in their delivery service like a bag of clean coal or whale oils.

Typical decision from above, endorsed by someone who likely retired with a fat pension and supported by a bunch of miope yes men.

This is one of those ridiculous investments that EM made that has been nothing but a money loser. Probably about 3-4 years in, and last I heard it was still losing money. The back story to why it's no longer on campus is a good one. They (EM and/or Yoshi) never checked with the fire Marshall if they could do this in a garage. Turns out they couldn't. Allegedly, a competitor to Yoshi made a call to the Marshall letting them know they were probably violating some rules. Sure enough, they were, and were promptly told to cease and desist. That ended Yoshi on campus 😏.

I never understood how one could be so lazy or that busy where they couldn't stop at a gas station for gas.
