Time off

I can’t understand why Manager’s can’t do their time off requests in a timely manner. They are suppose to approve or reject within 7 days of the requests being made, yet there are request in the system for months without any action. People have to make reservations or obtain tickets to events and Managers just ignore the requests until you speak up. Then they get p-ss-d off that you’re bugging them about the requests. This is a big reason why associate relations are in the sewer, Is it really that hard to do requests off? No, just managers being ignorant and lazy.

You are absolutely correct, a manager has seven days to reply as per the Wire. If the manager has not approved or denied the request within two weeks, I would talk to the manager stating why I needed an approval such as reservations, school out, children, etc., , follow up the conversation with an email, cc the Club Manager. If no reply or approval within a reasonable length of time, email Club Manager, cc your manager stating the time was not approved or denied after original request, a verbal conversation and the original email below. The CM should take action, if not go to the Regional HR Manager. Believe me, you will get someones attention.

Love when associates put in a request the day before they want off and manager is off that day but they still get p-ss-d that it wasn't approved. Works both ways.

I think managers have passed off all of their responsibilities and forget that they still have this on their plate, surprised it hasn't been passed on to the leads yet, I'm sure it's coming.

And when you cower at their anger instead of holding them accountable, YOU have taken the bait and are to blame.

If you read the whole thing, when associates speak up and managers get mad that you spoke up and continue to ignore the request

If you request time off and your manager does not reply, YOU are the lazy one. And incompatible boot.
