Epic Failure to Consolidate and Automate Processes

They are still sending thousands of FAX’s a day!

They have a failure of talent at the too, but so much easier to blame it on the rank and file. This is a classic strategy of mediocre management.

They simply can’t compete for the best people, and the few they have are easily lured away by better firms.

The money on IT went toward bringing all our platforms up to date. From the GF infrastructure to eliminating EOL items, security patches, ethical hack etc. You won't notice much of a difference except we're less vulnerable, more scalable, more resilient and are well positioned to more to an industry standard devops pattern. Except there are only enough developers left to handle BAU and regulatory work.
I'm totally amazed that anyone in their right mind can think that downsizing our IT departments will save us money. Every enhancement I was working on more than paid for itself in a matter of weeks, not years. And we had LOTS of things identified to work on but no funding. Yet our "leaders" claim they want to lower unit cost of our transactions :/

I heard punch cards is the way of the future at the bank since it provides a hard copy audit trail

They keep saying they're spending so much money on technology but at least in my role, I can't figure out where it is going.

We formed a Digital team to evaluate the bank’s infrastructure about 3 years ago. After a few years they came back and announced that we should migrate away from FAX, It’s been a while since then so we’ll probably have some big updates soon..

It's not surprising when our IT leaders in the town halls only talk about touchy feely things and other crazy mandates such as diversity.

As long as Todd is CEO expect nothing. His idea of change/improvement/efficiency is a new fax machine. The Staples near 240 G is closing - I think I saw him in there buying a few.
