Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I am seeing more and more chemical companies

Partnering with research firms to look into renewables. BASF and Clariant are two among others. The writing is on the wall.

That’s right. We don’t really need plastics. Not much is made with it.

Chemicals have seen their heyday, only downside from here on out. Plastics are on the downside as the world has woken up to the fact that they poolite the seas big time, they sit forever in the landfills, and they pollute the air when incinerated. And here we are building chemical plants in South Texas and expanding chemicals facilities at our refineries in the Gulf. Who does our long range planning and how do we continually miss this stuff?

Yep and gonna continue. They will diversify their feedstocks more and more from petroleum due to the uncertainty.
