Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Since 2014 CVE had 10 layoffs.

Saw, reposted, deserves it. Since 2014 CVE had 10 layoffs. I recall that we used to have over 8 thousand emails, I was always curious how the company could operate having 4 thousand office people, 50 VPs and 3000 field people. I recall that in June 2014 management decided to expand the company and triple its size to become the second largest producer in Canada. They were planning to double my unit, even started posting jobs. In August 2014 oil price started the downhill journey and hard times began. People say that the first layoff occurred in 2014, although I do not recall. The massive one occurred in October 2015, about 900 people. Then they had in 2016, 2017. There were no layoffs in 2018-19, but many people left the company voluntarily. And many people came, hired as contractors and employees. So I think in 2022 they will bring more contractors to replace recycled employees.

Hey everyone don’t worry, for sure this is the last round. We mean it this time. Remember we are a great big happy team building a culture of togetherness. In fact I just left a review on the Glassdoor describing what a wonderful team of management we have and how caring they are for our mental health. I encourage everyone to grow a pair and post a review on the Glassdoor telling our management just how great you think they are.

I think one star was too generous but it seems you can’t give negative stars.

If you have survived this round, don't give your best to your job. Just do bare minimum or someone else will take credit of your work, that's our way of thanking management of how we are treated.

There was about 800 in April 2018 and I believe more in early 2019.

What a disgrace. After all of the taxpayer cash they have used and all of the corporate welfare they have received with no strings attached. Canada is the only country in the world that allows this corporate robbery.
