Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Tired of being customer support off the clock

Do you have those friends and family who keep coming to you with their phone or account issues just because you work at AT&T? It has absolutely nothing to do with my job but somehow I'm expected to know what's wrong, why it's wrong, and how to fix it just because I work here. Since this is AT&T we're talking about, there are always plenty of problems going around. If I'm laid off, I'll make a public announcement just to get everybody off my back.

I work in COR. Years ago, I mean years ago, I could leave the store and has no issue wearing my work shirts. I was proud to wear the logo. WAS, is the key word. I use to field customer questions at the grocery store, we had a good product, good customer care - all in all it was great. There is no way I will wear my work stuff these days. I take it off the minute I leave the store. We do not offer great products, we are not competitive, we have horrid customer service, we do not help existing customers - everything you would expect in a failing company.

"I don't work in the part of the business".

  1. E. I didn't have any input on the Wonder Woman 1984 script, and I happen to agree it blew.

Yes. My brother has had Uverse at his house for years. Copper and then switched to GPON. I’m basically his SPOC for anything technical or trouble related even though I’m in a staff support role for systems automation/integration/Workflow. The only time he contacts U-verse care is to threaten to cancel the service so he can get yet another short term bundle deal. Oh how I do so love getting those text messages about “issues” and the subsequent escalations about when they will be fixed. I can count on one finger the number of times it has been AT&T network related beyond the RG.

Some years ago, they setup an organization that employees can escalate customer issues from friends and families. I used that and they were excellent! It might have taken some time for them to figure out the fix, but they kept the employee and the customer updsted frequently. I even successfuly used them to save a large commercial account once run by a friend.

Step forward to today and the reign of the Stinky. My friends and family see how Stinky is treating his employees. They don't ask for help anymore. They have all moved to competitors! Way to go Stinky!

Man people will just complain about anything. If you don't want to deal with it just either tell folks I am not sure how to fix it or grow a pair and be blunt. Say I don't give a c-ap. Call customer service to fix your problem and don't bother me.

Its pretty simple. Not sure what posting your nonsense on here is going to do for you other than getting some attention you are desperately seeking.

If It's a wireless bill I tell them to go to T-Mobile and they'll get good service from customer care, correct billing and a fast improving network. Been with them for 13 years and always helpful. The only time AT&T customer service ever reached out to me was a "we want you back" message that was too little, too late

It’s called being a good ambassador of the company. Folks won’t tell you the good, it’s always the issues. S— it up and take care of the customer.
