Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Does Cisco distinguish itself from it's competition anymore?

Or is it the beginning of the end?

Remember the DNC presidential candidates talking about breaking up FAANG, during the 2016 and 2020 DNC debates?

No? Probably not. Not many people can recall that far back.

In 2024, will they come after Cisco, a behomouth (AT like beast). AOC may come for Cisco in just a few years to break it up, like the Baby Bels.

Cisco would just stand there and take it. FAANG pushed back hard and lobbied hard to prevent serious damage to their businesses.

Buy I don't think Cisco could do anything to prevent it. I think if DNC candidates ever need a scapegoat, for political gain, they may consider to grab ahold of Cisco, next time, as a political punching bag.

Cisco still has the arrogance from when it was market leader back in late 90's early 2000's. They have declined since then with their product/service offerings and post sales support. Now they are like a big rusty telco trying to look innovative.

Who knows, in 20 years we may see the decline of the FAANG companies.

Linksys gave customers what they wanted too, then Cisco bought it and ruined it, then dumped it at a discount.

Don't forget the Flip camera, Cius, Cisco's Android tablet... And a lot more...

All gone. All those things they spent money to develop, release and then simply dropped the ball.

Cisco distinguishes itself these days by being consistently late to industry trends and disruption. Case in point, the fiasco that was 2019/2020 where Zoom took significant business from Cisco. Why? Because Zoom gave customers what they were looking for. Cisco must move away from thinking they can dictate to customers. All the competitors that are doing well are doing so because they are customer centric. Meraki is the only business unit that is focused on customer centric product development.
