Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell has lost its compass completely

All the things that used to matter are now irrelevant if an excel sheet says so. Years of experience, invaluable knowledge, always going that extra step...none of that matters if your pay is higher than whatever some pencil pusher said it should be. No wonder the best people are leaving in droves...

The remaining people working at Honeywell (outside of overpaid execs) are people that generally fall into a few categories:

  1. Near retirement - these are the people over 60 that are working to keep insurance. Once they can get Medicare, they'll punch their ticket and call it a career. They may also be paying off their mortgages and vehicles in the meantime.
  1. Looking, but haven't found the right thing - these are the people that are actively searching and want to leave. They just haven't found something suitable. They can be picky because they have a job.
  1. Newbies - these are the new grads that want the Honeywell experience on their resumes so they can land a much better gig in 2 - 4 years.
  1. Contractors - they get paid by the hour. And they can get plenty of paid OT without having to stick around for the k–ler stress and stupid coroporate policies.
  1. The unemployed - these are the people that need a job and Honeywell will do for a paycheck. They will soon join group #2.

This place is always lit up like a Christmas tree. Compared to other competitors layoff channels which are relatively quiet and boring. Who in their right mind would still want to work here?
