Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Same as Walmart

I transferred here from Walmart thinking I was moving up. I'm sad to see there's very little difference between the two. The same issues I was hoping to escape welcomed me here. Is this a newer development or has it always been like this? A friend used to work at another club several years ago and he always tried to get me to join it so I had the impression that things were better here.

They have been trying to turn Sams into Walmart and ever since that has started Sams has went way down hill.

20 years ago, walmart was a good place to work. plenty of help in the stores. I'd guess 75% or more were fulltimers. Most were knowledgeable & experienced people from other retailers. Managers & home office still respected the associates & treated them better. But they had started taking things away.
Most super centers had hundreds of employees. Now, they probably don't have 100.
If you notice, many of the Sam's & Walmart people at corporate headquarters move around the merry go round. They'll be at Sam's afew years then move to walmart & vice versa. They implement their lame ideas to whatever side they're on.

The only benefit I see from Walmart to sam's is a lot less product to stock! And the members are somewhat less trashy!!!

I did the same thing. It used to be better but has gone downhill fast recently.
