Associates walking around the floor talking on their cell phones not caring if a Manager is watching them. Instead of walking up to the associate and telling them to get off the phone, the Manager text a lead to "tell on" the associate. I just laugh and think to myself, "then take care of it coward".

That's the lead job. Problem is associates ASSUME that's the manager or gm job and it's not. That's the whole meaning of Chain Of Command
That's the lead job to address their associates!! The first thing the associate will say is "my supervisor saw me and said nothing". I'm sorry but the mgr is correct on this one.
If I SEE something I DO address it. However, if I am across the dang club and you witness it, as a manager, as THEIR upper manager... Why the heck wouldn't you say something immediately?? Why are you waiting until you run into me to say something about an incident that happened earlier??? I have plenty of management experience and that is never how I handle things. If I see it, I address it. Period. If you are from my dept or another, if you are doing wrong I will let you know. Im not going to text your TL or AM or tell them when I see them. That is WEAK managing. That's saying.. ehh not my problem even tho it's a problem.
This happens at my club all the time. That is how the club manager handles everything. Texts the AM to tell the team lead to address it, or send the AM a photo in a game of "what's wrong with this picture". The AMs do it to team leads too.. "hey, how come I saw this earlier"... Ummm I have no idea, clearly I wasn't there when it happened but you were.. so what do you want me to do about it now?? Why didn't YOU address it on the spot like you expect us to... Just food for thought there. Don't choke on it.
IF you saw someone doing something wrong, why did you not have the backbone to say, "Hey Johnny, you know it's against policy to be on your phone while working." Seems you are a coward as well.
I thought that my club was the only one that had a bunch of c-appy associates. But after reading what people say on this page, I can see all the clubs have bad associates.
That's why they get the BIG bucks , to as little as possible. And if you see it and tell a manager they laugh in your face been there done that!!

I would make your life miserable. You are right, you boss should can your BS.
The lead is to take care of his or her departments associates.
I see it all the time.
