Especially for IOT, which Cisco claims to be a leader.
If so, why is Cisco NOT an innovator in this technology?

What about we organize an inclusive return to work instead?
Does Cisco have their fingers on the pulse of technology, or are they more focused on cutting costs?
CBRS is a shared spectrum technology and there is a LOT of money to be made there. Probably more money than Wifi right now, because it's difficult to get a building owner to justify upgrading wifi for an empty COVID building that already has sufficient wifi coverage.
However CBRS can be utilized with IoT to save the building owner big BUCKS.
So, what does Cisco have to say, do they get in, or do they take a back seat?
Yeah, we fired the people working on private LTE.
Cisco is a box company. CBRS/private LTE is a technology that deals with radio waves. You can't get any further away from boxes than radio waves.
As with most non-box opportunities, Cisco will market themselves as being relevant in CBRS/private LTE because there will need to be some boxes passing packets in the overall solution. Of course, all of the innovation and value will be elsewhere in the solution.
Watch this space.
The sad part is Cisco could have bought a few Raspberry Pi's (or other IoT devices) and added a Sierra ( or other ) wireless chip with SIM card reader and had their own Private LTE offering.
It's obviously too late for them to become the market leader in this market now. Best they can do, is become another Johnny come Lately?
Cisco will probably buy a company with a CBRS product and then reorg it to death.
They don't even have a CBRS product on their roadmap? They missed the boat?
