I heard this too !
Apparently since the last few weeks hiring managers are being asked to rehire interested ex employees. This explicitly mentioned including 2015/16 ISPs. Heard this directly from a manager friend.
Of course everyone has to go through proper interview process.
Looking to see if anyone else heard about this as well. Thanks!
Concentrate on successful methods. It’s not what you do but how you do it.
Why on earth would anybody wants to find themselves in that position again? The layoff @ Intel will add at least 10 years to your life. Constant threat of layoff and stress will take a toll even on the toughest dude. Good luck and don't even think about stepping in that sh%t hole.
@2jgg+19XUWXWC Intel interviews are actually a talent ceiling check, to make sure no one too smart and can upset the management clique can get hired.
There's no way people would be out of work for 5 years
They would never go back
EEOC concluded Intel discriminated against workers in 2015 layoffs.
Wanna go back for more?
From Pat's perspective, it makes sense to remove any permanent ban. The larger the pool of people Intel can hire from, the better chance it can find the talent it wants. Realistically, this should have very minimal impact. The best talent from that pool likely would've already found better opportunities elsewhere. The worst of talent from that pool wouldn't pass interviews to get hired back.
I wonder if Pat is really even aware of such rehire restriction policy??
I was let go in 2019 when they sent my job to India. Things promptly started to go to sh_t and Intel HR twice tried to hire me back. Screw them, there’s no way in hell I’d go back.
@1saq+19XUWXWC I hear you, but I’ve been re-orged into redeployment twice already. So that exec is full of it.
Thanks but no thanks
Depending on where you are at the corporate hierarchy, a reorg might not concern you. Awhile ago, a Sr. person was a little bit annoyed by a question about reorg, he said (paraphrasing) " look at your level at the company, if you are a senior manager or executive, reorg might affect you. If you are an engineer, no need to worry, focus on your work.". Brass but true.
Not everyone is coming back. He needs a handful of trusted technical/execution engineers at the ELT level to get an outside perspective. Grounding in reality, gauging the competition and proposing a winning strategy is something that ELT has lost in the last 4 years....sadly. PG will settle the cage rattling and reorg by May 2021.
pay up to 50 million dollars each to come back omg CEO salary
Kickin Pat is NOT bringing the laid off employees.
He is bringing his crony buds back because they missed out on enriching themselves. Watch how they speak the same flowery language BK, BS, MR, JK, RK, NS spoke and walk away after making hundreds of millions.
5 years since 2015/2016 is long time. Would the impacted people have already settled down at new places? Why do they want to be back after 5 years?
I don’t know if he’d do that. On one hand, it’d be fair and help make amends with employees by admitting that mistakes were made. But the risk of retribution against the company, deserved or not, is very real.
Why do you think they would go back? I quit intel and would never consider going back to that s*ithole, being kicked to the curb would be even worse.
lol why would anyone want to go back to that hellhole
The involuntarily separated ( ISP) people from all groups? Having the chance to interview without the rehire restriction. They still have to go through full interview process....
What group do these people belong to?
