Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Be thankful for a good job! (Many would happy to take your spot)

You know I’ve read this for a while and sometimes find the debates about policies interesting but lately as we see fellow Americans getting laid off, (ironically none at FISERV, and don’t say it’s because people are leaving because they are not —- turnover is at historic lows) almost every household now dealing with COVID in some form, children whose lives are being ruined by corrupt politicians and teachers union officials and the banter no longer seems appropriate. Anyone who has a good paying job and health benefits should thank their lucky stars even if they don’t like one thing or the other. If you have your health even better. Complaining at this time in our countries situation seems un American and not the right time to be critical about not liking how your boss parts their hair.

The argument of a statist or happy slave. It's so easy to point to how things could be worse.

"You should all be thankful you still have jobs"

This takes me all the way back to the meeting we had in 2009.
Fiserv's greatest hits!

"Director level...and acts like he runs the company" This is the funniest thing I have read on this forum in ages! director level has zero authority in the company, they are middle managers who's only job is to organize lower level staff. I'm not even sure director level staff can hire/fire or make staffing decisions. Just start inviting his boss to calls and watch him squirm, LMAO.

No doubt whoever wrote this post will be forever employed. I guess slaves should have been grateful for bondage because they had shelter and meals if I follow your logic....SMH

I think it goes beyond hair-parting. my manager is Director level and he is so full of himself and acts like he runs the company. He will join meetings late that arent even his, then tries to run the meetings. he spends more time reading and quoting phony leadership books to try to justify leadership failures instead of staying rooted in reality

I agree we should be grateful to have our jobs. Many will not appreciate it until they realize they are unable to pay tomorrow's bills. Read up on how regular working people can become homeless overnight and end up camping in a tent on the streets of Venice, CA. Some worked IT folks too.
