Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

GM always trying to block opportunities

It's sad when you put in for MIT and they choose someone else because the GM tells other them your not ready and need more time I can accept that so when you put in for a transfer to get to club closer to your house then he call you into office and try to talk you out of it and start bashing the other GM and their club operations smhhhh.

From what I can tell, managers are hiring based on who they want to pursue extra-marital affairs with. If you're young, even moderately attractive, and have minimal qualifications, you are most likely to be accelerated into management.

Anyone else need not apply. And if you slip through, they will do their best to discourage you until you quit or worse.

Look at the clubs Managers and Male/Female Ratio. I would say it’s real heavy on the male side.
Some things Never change. Even after the Discrimination Lawsuits!
They were promoting more women because of this and now they are back to the same old games.
Will they EVER learn?

If they ever tell you "you aren't ready yet" but never assign you with a development plan or company mentor along with a realistic timeline to move you into management, they have ZERO interest in promoting you.

It is your career and your life. Take it into your hands. I speak from experience.

This is common. You're too vital to move at the moment. It's even worse that you put in for a transfer to a club closer to where you live and is being talked out of it. Do what's best for you and your growth.
