Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Winning in any environment

Ok can someone explain how arewewinning when the break even is somewhere between 40 and 50 and have not been able to profit in few quarters in a row? How on earth can you be winning in any environment when your break even for the year has been far higher than average Oil price? Stop this BS and admit you can win when everyone is trying to make you fail in fossile fule.

All these buzz-phrases are just meant to placate the lemmings and sound like something positive is happening. We "won" by laying off tons of people and shedding valuable experience. We "won" by buying Noble rather than that dirty work of finding and developing our own reserves. We "won" by shedding assets in order to pay the dividend. We "won" by playing a shell game with the same bunch of incompetent managers and calling it a "reorganization" and "re-imagining". For those of you old enough to remember, this is exactly the "winning strategy" Texaco employed as they went into their business tailspin.

We are “winning in any environment” if you somehow can convince yourself to ignore reality. I suppose that silly slogan is synonymous to “blind faith” or “zoning out” on crack. It’s only the latest catch phase, people. Pay it no mind and just get back to working on your core functions.

Come on! We are “Winning” because....ummmm..well..Because they say we are and that’s all we need to know. That being said, does anyone know when the next round of “Winners” will be laid off!

Geothermal was losing in every environment after some very poor management of electricity sales contracts by IBU.

I think it is amazing that Chevron dumped their geothermal assets in this green world. Some high quality decision analysis at work

“winning in any environment” “transformation to win” these are meaningless buzzword thought up by PR folk to not say things like job cuts or layoff to preserve company liquidity

This report doesn't show full year 2020 financial results but it does indicate reserve replacement ratios and other metrics for major O&G companies.
