Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Known for Repositioning Brands, Carla Piñeyro Sublett is IBM’s New CMO

Peluso's replacement. Surely her forte of "repositioning" will include RA'ing.

Just when I thought IBM couldn't virtue signal any higher... they found a way to raise the flag further.

Rumor has it, that IBM is planning to get rid of WebEx and replace it by Slack only!!

It was a running “chat” on slack. A free for all. Numerous people throwing out questions. Her answering here and there. Can’t imagine who thought that was a good idea.

Post ID: @hnw+19e7M1GU Through slack. ? ???? Kinda classless. Unless she stated something like “im reaching out to you individually or I’m scheduling a meeting, etc”

"You can add Salesforce since it is what IBM uses now for handle hardware/software support tickets... "

Retain was actually better for many things.

IBM needs to focus on producing stronger, more worthwhile, and industry leading products first instead of trying to put lipstick on the pig via marketing glitz. The IT market has long outgrown the IBM mystique.

You can add Salesforce since it is what IBM uses now for handle hardware/software support tickets... What happens when the relationship goes sour... Or IBM decides Salesforce has become too expensive...

@hnw+19e7M1GU Slack and Box are both cancers. The amount of enterprise knowledge being siloed, locked up, and that will almost certainly be lost someday, in these proprietary services is sickening. Not just at IBM either, everywhere.

She can always be replaced at some point when things do not work out... isn't that the IBM WAY?

She introduced herself to us this morning via a slack meeting. Horrible choice. I have no hope.

IBM marketing here.

There is a ton of fat, especially in middle management.

Peluso's high-level hires (and their 'band of bros' posse) need to go the way of Peluso. Maybe IBM can help them find a magic 'newly created' role with one of their biggest clients.

Leave Pinyero alone. Let's see if she's clear eyed enough to see what's she's been dealt.

Apart from noting her ability to navigate the intricate maze of corporate software providers,
Sublett highlighted her personal story as the daughter of immigrants and entrepreneurs from
Uruguay. She describes herself as a champion for diversity and inclusion and was awarded “Top
50 Influential Hispanic” by Hispanic Business Magazine.

I'm sure this had no bearing on her hiring and she was surely the best candidate for the position. . .
