Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Yeah, and the IBM Software revenue su**ed last quarter and dragging down the entire Cloud revenue...

Ibm claims almost all of their software and a lot of their services as cloud revenue, even when it is not....

Yeah, I am looking forward to January 2022 when IBM no longer talks about Automation and AI, and they come up with the next buzzword... Anyone knows what it will be?

I never said IBM had any advantage in either Automation or AI... we all know that IBM is way behind in both... it is just the next story to try to make Wall Street believe that the turnaround is just around the corner... We all know what happens next...

Keep in mind that both Oracle and IBM have been using creative accounting to fudge their cloud numbers. Even by doing that, they are still treading water while the competition sails away!

As for the Automation and AI, in what way does IBM have any advantage there? I think they are behind and falling further behind there too. Am I wrong?

I think it is clear that IBM has already thrown the towel when it comes to Public Cloud.
They already know they will never catch with AWS, Azure and the likes... Reason why they started that all hybrid cloud non-sense and lately the all Automation/AI thing...

Amazon have a very profitable cloud business, and soon AWS revenue will be larger than IBM total revenue (after Newco gas departed). Google have deep pockets so they can afford their
cloud services not being profitable yet - but they are growing very very fast revenue wise. I struggle to see IBM ever catching up to Microsoft and the other very aggressive crowd vendors. This is a very competitive landscape and IBM is so far behind.
