LOL @OP. Fun k–ler. people are so gullible. They will take any random post or comment on a (RUMOR) site and twist it into the most off-the-wall nonsense. Was really anticipating how far these mo–ns were gonna go with this, until you had to come in and ruin it with the truth.

This is @OP. I frequently supported Olathe from the Redmond facility as that site manufactures the products I work. There will be no more travelling to Olathe for me as I have decided to be done with Honeywell. I will apply for the relocated jobs of course but have no intention of moving.
I liked the people in Olathe and will miss those trips. So long and thanks for the BBQ.

Transitions can't execute any phase in 2 months.

I'll just leave this here: (https://www.flyertalk.com/articles/whos-still-flying-and-whos-not-a-definitive-list-with-live-updates.html). They can and will close any facility that doesn't make financial sense to operate. Don't think you are safe because you heard it from MGMT that the site will remain open.

Corporate wants out of Aerospace and the Covid-19 Pandemic is giving them cover. Honeywell didn't make financial targets due to the AERO downturn (Honeywell’s Shares Fall as Q4 Profit Slumps About 13%; Target Price $210- https://finance.yahoo.com/news/honeywell-shares-fall-q4-profit-052940772.html) This is a rational outcome of the decades long decline in new products and services by Honeywell in the Aero sector. The Aero Division was MUCH bigger 30 years ago as it was two different companies, Honeywell and Allied Signal.

Segment details
Revenue for the aerospace segment plunged roughly 19% to $2.98 billion in the fourth quarter. Sales on an organic basis also declined 19% reflecting lower volume in the aviation original equipment business, which was partially negated by growth in the defense and space business. The segment's margin expanded 150 basis points courtesy of "productivity actions and commercial excellence."

Now on to the other troubled business, Sales at Honeywell Business Technology tumbled 2.5% to $1.43 billion. Organic sales were down 4% due to poor performance of the commercial fire and building management products. As a result of "commercial excellence and productivity measures," the segment's margins soared 110 basis points to 21.4%.:

And now for the k–ler statement: Looking forward
Honeywell anticipates commercial aerospace and oil and gas demand to go down rapidly due to the ongoing economic crisis. This will have an adverse impact on the company's overall revenue.

There they said it .... LAYOFFS are coming!!!!

There is no way they can close a site within 4 months or so. Even transitioning to a 3rd party takes time. Just look at Tucson.

Has anyone asked the Olathe Site Leader if they are closing in Q2?

I bet the OP is quitting or retiring meaning that Olathe will have to do without them. Also seems to be a hint that the only thing good that they got out of the job was some barbeque.

How?.... with the stroke of a pen! They have no loyalty to you! If the numbers say close, it will happen.

I’m confused, which site is closing. Olathe or Redmond?

Can confirm: this post had nothing to do with Aero's decision to close the site at the end of Q2.

Darius happened. The US RIF last year was mostly those 50 years old and older. How doesn’t a attorney or the government look into this?
