Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Maybe BP is Your Promised Land?

BP is attempting to radically reinvent itself by largely and rapidly moving away from fossil fuels in favor of renewable energy. They have gutted their exploration program and personnel by about 80%, with the new emphasis limited to only near field wildcats and step outs, which essentially gives up on reserves replacement going forward and will lead to dramatic production losses with predictions of 40% overall declines by 2030. The new CEO seems fine with these impacts, wanting to be the first major energy company to dive headlong into renewables and away from fossil fuels. Dividends cut by 50%, more to come. Headcount reductions of 10,000 already behind them.

This sounds exactly like what many of you are clamoring for EM to do, which will never happen. Maybe BP could be your new happy home? By jolly, spot of tea in the afternoon sound good? Sounds like a perfect fit. Off you go!

BP? oh my god, that is a company of disasters. All the case studies at school (ChemEng) was on how not to do what they did. A classic example of A-grade cow-dung design and operations.

Rosneft knows how to corner markets and workers.
Aramco know how to pump fields and workers.

What does bp have to do with EM's future?

And don’t plan on BP hiring you either. They are looking for people with prior experience in renewables.

Spot on. As the Europeans depart we will fill the vacuum left. Good times ahead. The world continues to say they hate us but their actions prove they love our product.

After promoting denial and delay, ExxonMobil Waste Management Solutions won’t be able to catchup.

The Titanic is going under with all you dinosaurs on board.
