Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT does not have the ability to retain quality employees anymore?

I no longer know anyone with a lot of talent that stayed in this company. They all found better positions. It seems to me that the company has nothing left to offer to keep those people around. The worst thing is that the they did not even try to keep them, and without these people this is no longer the old company. A real shame.

Just read his board and you will have your answer from the "quality" people still there

No AT&T has no quality employees left. They were destroyed by years of telling them there is not benefit in being a quality employee for AT&T. They would be very high quality for any other company.

This is their master plan, a revolving door workforce. Employ a contingent workforce, work two to three years and your out, few, if any bennies. Move on to another company, rinse and repeat.

"...only need employees to manage contractors and vendors"

Not a bad gig if you can get yourself one. ;)

I really don't know what's wrong with you people. I mean I just got hired 2 years ago and I'm making more money than I've ever seen in 15 years of telecom. I have a good team with "QUALITY" employees that I work with. I don't know what AT&T "Used to be" but they pay for my uniforms... the tools... the work truck...and I get at least 40 hours a week. The f&ck else can I ask for?

Yeah... the money's great but we used to get treated like a human being before. (15+yrs ago) Maybe you didn't have anything before you came here. It'sh– or miss with some depts. but eventually you get comfortable and some new manager wants to make a name for himself. They'll pretend to be your friend and walk you out the door.

If all the good people have left and you are still here, what does that tell you?

yep att is a dying company - that is what you get when you don't want to provide customer service and bill people into oblivion.

left a few years ago when I saw that writing on the wall. didn't care about being surplussed just wanted to work for a company that is cutting edge and has a pulse.
