Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Serious question and asking for answers: What is with the admin hashtag?

I am confused on who is using it and why. I have seen it on many post. Really, why? Who are you?

It was used on a post describing the marine corps culture having good camaraderie because their leaders (officers) look out for them and they are forced to rely on each other in training. An officer can’t make it through to become an officer if they are seen as looking out for themselves. They watch how they interact with others, and if they are not helping then they do not pass.

It also mentions why people don’t perform optimum on their jobs. The reason here was that their leaders and colleagues do not look out for them.

Not sure if this is true, but someone told me it was a reference to Darren Woods’ comment in one of his employee forums last year in the Spring Campus. The story involved an Admin who used to report to Darren. She left ExconMobil and was much happier at her new job. I forget the context of the story.

Very annoying. My two cents, someone is using it in an ridiculous attempt to summon the website administrators, not realizing it’s just a tag - people from all forums here use it for referencing and grouping their posts.
Btw, the site is administered and mods do scrub posts on a regular basis, usually deleting personal insults and over excessive use of foul language. They also nuke posts containing full names (it’s ok to name c-suits and celebrities, and it’s not ok to name your coworkers because they are not public figures). One can probably send them an email reporting a certain post is in rule violation and they’ll probably review it., but tagging every single thread here with “admin” simply doesn’t work because people on this and other forums here use the same tag for tones of other reasons (like when talking about certain job positions in their own firms or something like that).
