I wouldn’t plan on a career with EM in the UK. Question is when if ever will the UK expats go home.

EM's UK best and brightest already managing other places, so not much future.
Scots are Brits, right? Is that right?

Oil giant ExxonMobil is to lay off staff at its giant Fawley refinery site, which employs around 2,300 people.

The company has not said how many jobs will go but local sources suggested consultations are under way with around 100 staff.

ExxonMobil says around 400 jobs will go across the UK by the end of next year.

@1foh+19iTY6Vt - Fawley hasn’t had a penny spent on it in decades and suddenly management flashes the cash, but it’s too little too late...

UK had a good run, even though many projects there have been very poorly managed over the last 10-15 years. Lots of desperation money chasing returns that simply weren’t to be had. Future will be small to medium companies living off existing infrastructure. As these fail over time, probably won’t be money or expertise to replace, so a slow but sure decline for all. Lots of abandonment work to be done if anyone can be made to pay - good luck. Destined to be non-core or harvest assets. Sorry old chap, but the old lady is likely done with this industry. Thanks for the good times of old!

Perhaps as a terminal for Rotterdam and Antwerp products.
