Jeff was a growth leader? Accounting manager at best, buybacks, low growth, and orange dust was his legacy, how soon we forget!

@awd+19l5kP7x Precisely this. Same with the ancient, creaky old (Corillian!) Voyager garbage, which gets repackaged every year while another layer of lipstick gets slathered on it.

This earnings call has me feeling a lot better about the future direction of the company. We'll fly out janitorial staff to meet with clients, pump lots of money into fake Fortune awards, and continue pumping millions into affirmative action programs. Bribing a NASCAR driver to flash our logo sounds like a winning plan as well.

Saying FB is not a growth leader is short sighted. He inherited a s-show in First Data and needed to save it by driving expense savings. Let’s see what he does in a much healthier company

They’ve ridden the CheckFree horse for years but that pony is tired.

FB is not a growth leader he is an expense manager. It's why he was brought in at First Data and why he is leading Fiserv now. The company doesn't have organic growth left so all that remains is to cut expenses to the bone. This strategy works for a few years and eventually you either get bought out or buy a smaller company that can grow for you. Look at the last few years of First Data and you'll see they were buying up small companies and ISO's to try to kick start growth.

It’s a growth issue, managing expenses is really the 2021 game plan

My boss told me in confidence they can’t hold off making big moves after earnings. They need to show much bigger synergy than projected

At some point the constant reorgs, money wasted on agile consulting, and the hiring of buddies for jobs they aren’t qualified for, would have an effect. Fixable? Yes, but a massive pile to dig out from
