Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Court docs show how IBM chooses layoffs

The other day @1ief+19h9ytUd posted this link: https://regmedia.co.uk/2019/07/31/ibm.pdf
Which is from a lawsuit in Texas. I read through the entire thing as it shows how we’re chosen for layoff. I urge you to read it too.

It seems the case is settled though. I want to thank “lief”.

If NewCo operates like current GTS does, then just stick the fork in them now.

When your lawyers and exec’s convince you to hunt your own employees vs the competition, you are going out of business. IBM is still pursuing this strategy which doesn’t bode well for Legacy IBM. Perhaps new Hybrid IBM will get some new lawyers, new mangers, and some new innovation (JW what do you think) to turn the tide. Newco/GTS is just old IBM pursuing the body shop approach. Who will work for less?

No wonder IBM got rid of its three basic beliefs 1) HAVE RESPECT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL!!!!! 2) Give the best customer service of any company in the world 3) Pursue all tasks with the idea that they can be accomplished in a superior fashion.

IBM executives have no integrity. IBM executives wear loafers because they are not smart enough to tie their own shoes.

I retired from the IBM s#%t show because the company had become an embarrassment and no longer held the same beliefs put forth my Tom Watson.

Thanks. I've read. I recognize this is the HR approach, long since, also in other side of the Western World, not just in the U.S.A; and also for bands lower than 10, like that of Mr. Langley here cited.

A good read - tells you the tail is wagging the dog. HR is responsible for the decisions, not your management. And when management do get involved, it's to help justify/manipulate the HR narrative. Some great insight into what goes on behind the HR curtain - those guys are not to be trusted and/or believed.
So for those of you who believe you can apply for internal jobs once you are on the RA list, and stand any chance of getting hired - think again.
Working for IBM is a liability, not a career. And HR is corrupt.

From the long and sometimes convoluted text, I am not a lawyer ...

"In reality, his selection for layoff was rooted in a discriminatory scheme designed to target divisions with older workers, aggressively hire new young employees simultaneously, and make it nearly impossible for older IBM employees targeted for layoff to transfer or be rehired internally—the fire and hire scheme."

Sum it up quite well!
