Apple M1 is SOC with DRAM, GPU, CPU, dedicated Video encoder more. It is not a fair comparison with Intel part, which has CPU and GPU only. M1 silicon real estate is much larger than Intel chips. If Apple is trying to sell M1 as part, they would have charge for lot more.
Question is why Intel disclosed everything to Apple how to make microprocessors on a platter?

Agree with the premise though - Macs are for artists. Scientists use PCs and servers.
