These id–ts talk about what a good job your doing over your holiday weekend how about making sure you r—ds plan for this sh– better. It cannot be that this sh– was a surprise infosec was pushing this out for x amount of time why not make sure your own house is in order.

IT leaders..IT has been used as a promo stepping stone for internal people. It has been managed by people without any IT backgrounds for so long. This is an intel problem, but worse in functions like IT and HR.. Every org has leaders who don’t have the necessary skills, relevant experiences to run their function. They don’t know their arse from their elbow.
It must be tough to be IT. People who came from tmg etc running IT. it must hard to listen to those bozos talk about process this, process that, their meaningless slides and big nothing meetings and ARs.
Sorry to hear it — that’s not a fun use of one’s 3-day weekend. You would hope someone would have tested the capability out first against a much smaller scope.
Y’all better emotionally prepare yourself though — expect that some upper manager will give “great status updates” during the remediation effort and get a promo to VP out of this!
Somebody apparently learned how to use static analysis, misconfigured it, ran it against a ton of repos, then made it everyone else's problem to sort out a boat load of false-positives under the guise of being an "emergency".
There had better be a post-mortem on this b—s—.
Could you elaborate? Is IT doing a massive patching run to plug yet another security hole? Or perhaps it’s those SolarWinds instances that still need attention?
