Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

99% of The Employees have zero faith in and don't trust

John Stankey, Randal Stevenson, and the Board that should have sent them packing years ago. The combination of incompetence and hubris at the highest level in this company has sent talent and investors fleeing. The only way this can be fixed is carve out the cancerous leadership and replace it. You may have to go down to the SVP and ED levels with your incisions but this culture of Yes Men and Women does nothing but grwase the tracks for Executives massive blunders.

Company leadership lack vision, but also basic business sense. For two years, I’ve researched an existing product that could earn, minimum 500 million annually, and as much as 1.2 billion. No measurable risks. I’ve run it up the flagpole and was always shocked when it would suddenly die. Finally discovered, the VP was rejecting it as soon as he heard the name of the product. Get this: he has conflated it with another product in his head, and is dead wrong in his knee jerk rejections, AND our competitors keep raking in the dough from same product. Yet nobody will tell him that he’s a clueless mo–n. That’s how I know that there’s no future here.

Things probably wouldn't change much with new leadership. Shareholders want unsustainable growth. Executives have to do their best to try to satisfy unrealistic expectations. Most likely, a new leadership team would continue the trend. Att isn't unique with layoffs and cuts in employee benefits. It's become the American corporate way.

And yet you have faith in the paycheck you cash and the vacation hours you take and the doctor visits you take. Ungrateful much?

No need for a employee canvas. Dark cloud hovering over T, the current C-suite leadership has reduced this formerly blue chip status corporation, to the bottom of the barrel. Layoff announcements at every turn, benefit reductions resulting in lowest benefit offering of similar fly by night companies. If this doesn't bother you, it certainly should.

Now has the OP, surveyed 100% of employee's with 100% response to get this opinion. Yes opinion, throw us some facts from the survey of more than 1000 people who work for the company. Apparently these leaders have been successful, as my dividend has risen every year, and they seem to meet their financial goals every year. The company is here to make money for the shareowners, not make 100% of employee's happy.

Interesting when people have not idea what they are talking about, they will say "99%" to cover their cluelessness.

99% of The Employees have zero faith in and don't trust

According to whom?
not glassdoor where approval is at 60%

or is this just an informal poll of you and your coworkers?

So long as 401K continues to fill up, and pension accumulates, ... yawn.

Sorry to say, but in professional sports where it is truly a team model, it’s management that is replaced when the team is not winning! Clearly, T is not winning, therefore, it’s not the team that needs to be replaced, it’s management! They don’t ask for solutions, they fire the manager first and hope that the new manager can provide the solutions! It’s that simple!

It's funny to me...how people are experts on CEOs. "Replace the management"...it reminds me of "throwing something against the wall and see if it sticks." The solution to the problem is always "get rid of management." "Off with their heads!" Wish for once I could see someone suggest something concrete to turn things around. Just don't see it on here...instead just a b–ch session. Would love to see ideas on "how to turn it around" on here instead.

Feel free to submit a proposal to this effect for written action by the shareholders for the next annual meeting.
