Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

TR in five years?

Some say the company will not exist at all. I mean, nothing would surprise me, but what is the probability that something like that will come true? I personally do not believe that ways are being sought to sell this company.
Just about anything we say about the future of the company is pure speculation, but it would be interesting to hear what others think where this company will be in 5 years.

I'm kind of shocked TR is still a thing. They're obviously winding it down, and they need to hurry up while debt is still cheap and relatively covenant free.

Yip, the HR lady out again ... which makes me immediately suspicious. Credit some of us with some sense. What has been happening over the past 8 years or so is only leading in one direction.

Lots on investment houses are seeking former TR staff to discuss the services and info systems being supplied to market versus competition. It’s clear TR is for sale. Family only want to focus on Reuters news - at least what’s left of what it was or could have been.

@oet+19rdAxAu: couldn’t agree more. You are being very kind to say TR is filling in holes in the product line. Where I am it’s been a case of butchering once excellent product by incompetents in another country. The 5 years mentioned above is optimistic in my opinion.

Thanks HR lady for whitewashing what Reuters own reporters know is true. TR wants to escape worker knowledge and is fluffing up the balance sheet and filling in holes in the product line to make the sale.
