Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

I Hope Our Friends Are OK in Houston

My heart goes out to all of our CVX employees in Houston as well as Texas as a whole. Stay safe and try to stay warm. On a bright side, you did not have to hear the HSE VP give another I love myself speech.

I am just joking. I don't know the HSE VP but I have seen his videos. He does change direction a lot.

Well, I hope you laughed and please be safe out there Texas.

@eer+19tS3eFB, people like DP are such easy targets because they make so many mistakes and yet come out smelling like a rose. This is just like a trump administration. If you speak up, you get layed off. He is not a good man.

Cvs new operating model is to empower employees and let them make decisions and details are out of scope for GM and VP, their job is to support team leads and that is all.

Yes, keep safe, and No, no one gives two hoots. So what if HES VP post a message? He isn't going anywhere, and even if he did someone worse will replace him. After all it is the HES we are talking about, it is the biggest drag on the business.

I don't think anyone has said anything about not being happy with their job. They are just not happy with the leadership and how selections are being made. I think a lot of people are trying to make a change in the organization by getting this information out. We talk about being open and honest but as soon as someone says something internally with their name on it, they get punished or layed off.

If you look at the post history, very few have not been spot on honest. There is no way you could say these things internally.

Most of the negative stuff against the post tend to be Chevron Public Affairs. They watch and post garbage just to try and distract. They use improper language, profanity etc. just to try and discredit this site and people posting.

This site has truly become an informal board to post honest opinions.

I love how this is a lay-off site and you post this. You have a job, just got a raise, and are getting a bonus. Leave if you aren’t happy. I’m sure someone out there who isn’t working would love your job.

Well, it is cold in Colorado (Noble/Chevron) as well and we are made for these conditions. I do hope the best for all of my new co-workers in Texas. PLEASE STAY SAFE - FAMILY FIRST

We got our new Chevron HSE Manager (legacy Chevron). Very dynamic, personable and dumb as a stump. He has been very engaging with the employees but when we pose scenarios to request his input on issues, the guy gives this weird warm supportive speech with, I know you can do it. It is very strange. Our Noble HSE Manager was very involved with details and actually educated people. I guess it shows the difference of what Noble and Chevron hold important. Noble was more on HSE experts and Chevron appears to be more on politician type personalities.

Well, Stay safe Houston. You are in Colorado's prayers.
