If AT&T is still laying off then why are they hiring wire techs in the southeast ?.
Not only that but they are giving techs who stay until September a 4500 dollar "cash award" ?. And they were laying off before all this. This really is without a doubt the worst management I have seen in any company let alone a multi national one.

Older dinosaur workers that think they know a lot should leave. Young smarter workers have better attitudes and do more work.
Follow T on LinkedIn and you’ll be amazed at all the new hire college students proudly accepting positions with the company. Meanwhile on the other end thousands are being forced out yearly.
They were just going to surplus and now hiring. Now they are going with the fiber rollout again but this all takes money so they cut everywhere they can. There seems to be no direction at all to where they are going. But now paying people bonus' just for staying is unreal.
And Stankey's arrogant screw you attitude does not work at all in these times we live in.
With the cancel culture and other movements trending towards equality and going after corporations this is a bad role to be playing. Look at Randall and his vision of this media conglomerate AT&T was going to be. Nobody could tell him otherwise and he proceeded to go on a decade long plan in the technology sector. In the process new technology sprouts up and changes the dynamics. But no you can't tell Randall and in the end he was a miserable failure. One of the first companies to have iptv and one of the last to launch a software based tv product. Simply the worst management found anywhere
That's how labor management is done,. Reduce where not needed, and increase where needed. Anyone surplused is put to the top of the list for any job they choose to apply for.
If they’re willing to relocate, techs being laid off in the southeast can find positions in the southwest and west since they appear to be hiring impacted technicians.
The are laying off full-time permanent employees and hiring temp/terms to replace them.
