I’m not fully versed in the packages that competitors provided when they went through the same exodus of their older employees a few years ago, but I trust someone who mentioned here that they were much more lucrative than the packages provided by ATT.
AT&T is showing they don’t have the class to handle it that way. They are discounting what a disgruntled workforce will do to their plans.

@xxo Correct.....ATT Management (non-bargained) employees receive up to 6 months salary/severance based on tenure, pro-rated bonus, as well any accrued vacation.
Agreed on "packages". You're dating yourself using that term. T hasn't offered any incentive to leave for some time. No enhanced severance, no pension kicker, none of that stuff. Those days are long gone.
Indeed, their approach is the complete opposite. They're incentivizing people to leave by taking stuff AWAY from them and fostering a toxic culture.
Typical Stanky style is do it the cheapest way and drive people out by cutting pay and benefits, creating a hostile work environment, creating warfare amongst various organizations and taking decision making from the lower ranks. If he offered a voluntary severance incentive it would cost more and he isn't in the business of earning respect or being liked. He doesn't care what people think of him as he is a narcissistic psychopath
Why can’t an offer be made to thousands of T employees that would gladly take an offered severance package rather than just targeting specific areas of the business and going through it with a machete!
Why do people keep insisting on using the word "packages"? There are no packages. There is the door. And that's it. Stop it.
Re: competitors. Verizon culled the same demographic from their workforce a couple years ago....:
"The severance package offered up to 60 weeks worth of salary, bonuses, and benefits depending on the length of employment. Verizon announced that about 10,400 employees accepted the deal that was reportedly offered to around 44,000 workers...
Don't have the money because we over pay the executive team.
