Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Its review and raise time - LOL

can't wait to see how this goes

probably the same as every year - I would really like to give you a good raise but I can't because you know we spent like drunks and had to hire and promote a whole bunch of people that haven't achieved any thing

News Flash** management does NOT have any input to your bonus or raise. In past years they did but not anymore, it is completely automated by HR now.

4duk, my supervisor told me that those % were decided at the VP level with no option to rearrange them- which increased my salary to the very minimum available for my band; thank you for taking into consideration my hard work and unpaid overtime !

That is so not true. HR does gives a proposed percent but Management has leeway to re-work percentages as they see fit. TRUTH, PEACE OUT

Your midpoint is still 90k? 80% of that is 72k so anyone below that should be brought up to 80% of midpoint.

So if the salary range for my role is currently 60k-120k, the midpoint was 90k.

I started at 62k, but after 5 years in the role, I made it to 82k. I guess my old tier was in tier 3 of the TSR?

I was still below midpoint, but I worked hard for those 20k in raises)

The new TSR range is be 72k-108k. (Midpoint is still 90k)

Does everyone that’s in my role, but below 72k just automatically get a big raise to put them there?

This will be my 2nd year in a row of having someone write my review that I never worked one day for.

To the Person that wrote the following "Company must be tired of paying and getting lackluster results from workers". Can you even write that with a straight face? Now the employees are the issue? OMG LMAO

All their fooling around with the salary bands and ranges is going to do is increase the annual number or promotions to AVP and VP. When the "special people" can't be taken care of adequately with big raises and bonuses, they just promote them to get around the problem. They've already been doing it for years. That's why ATT has about as many VPs per capita as a bank, where just about everybody's business card says they're a VP of something or other. Because VPs are way too important to go in layoffs of the proles, by the end of the year when all the older workers jump ship, everybody who's left that actually does any real work will probably be reporting to two of them.

HR might calculate that raise, but performance metrics are still provided by the manager. All the butte kissers are now paid too much to get a raise,

Average is 1.0-1.5% if you're within 90-110% of midpoint. If your over 110% of midpoint, it's nada. Thank you for all your hard work. Here's $800 bucks.......

Don't forget the bonus' that were provided by way of stock options! Totally worthless, had three years to beat the grant price per share, never happened. All options expired without ever rising above the grant price. What a joke!

Our people are our most important asset and we value all you do.
You're fired, close the door on your way out, don;t let it hit you in the @ss.
Can't tell you how many decades in a good year we didn't get raises because the company had
a better use of capital AND we were overpaid.
And in a bad year, market forces were such that the company had to conserve cash to survive.
Bottom line VP and higher ED got raises, promotions and benefits.
The rest of us, NOPE.

Or as one famous VP said in the late 90's.
"I know some of you think were having this meeting today to announce RIGHTSIZING (layoffs) but
I'm not a hatchet man (yeah. right. then why did you bring this up?) but with the reduction in workload and duplicative processes we need to
streamline. (Terminate) So we will be taking a hard look at the metrics (how many workers we
think we can fire) and plan for the future of our business (me keep my job, you dolt's need to leave)."

That was delivered by a VP level who was known as a hatchet man. His last name in a room in your
house. He'd look you in the eye and lie with skill.

Right about when the cuttin' was to commence the economy turned around and these DA's went
on a hiring spree.

As most should know, the raises are given by program in HR, that takes ratings scores and creates an increase, or not. No objectivity by the boss.

And now because you’ve slowly worked your way to the middle range of your TSR over 10 years we are cutting the TSR range and you are now over paid. You will never see a raise again. Feel free to leave. But we value you and contributions you’ve made.
