Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Layoff package is all I need

I was thinking of some options, but I would never agree to be part of some company like this again.
On the other hand, I’m getting really bored here, so I barely do the minimum I have to. I thought I would be lucky to get the layoff package much earlier.
It’s hard to wait for the package, isn’t it?

Please leave as soon as possible. You obviously aren't worth keeping around and should have been gone long ago.

"I truly don't understand bitter people like the OP."

I understand it. Cisco had a lot of promise as an innovative company to work at and grow with. At one time, in the late 90s I believe, Cisco was the most valuable company in the world. Cisco created most of the technology that powers the internet today and did for a long time. But that bright light is growing dim, largely from a shift of focus from innovation and customer service to the "diversity is our strength" and "racial equality" nonsense.

I truly don't understand bitter people like the OP. Cisco is not a jail, you're welcome to walk out any time you want. Let me take a guess though. Are you afraid your complacency has left you behind with no useful skills to be hired elsewhere? Is this the role model you want to be? Wasting time day after day and ranting about it?

Why don't you just do what you think is right to improve yourself, and perhaps the company and others? How are you going to position yourself to another company saying "i did the minimum". They will probably see right through it as well. You may inspire someone or colleague. Is this how you want to be remembered? Think about it.

I think when I said JC and Ringo Starr were 2 of the luckiest SOBs to ever live but Ringo actually made a real contribution to my manager, my services were no longer needed.

Good tip around SW or cloud questions. Or point out some of the failings in the current strategy, that got my exit ramp polished.

Just ask your leadership team about our cloud or software solutions. Questions like that will put you on the LR list.
